Using BoardWithin

App license

Use of BoardWithin through the App Store is subject to Apple’s Standard End User License Agreement. This page explains the product and credits; it does not replace that agreement.

Availability and purchases

BoardWithin is available for iPhone and iPad through the App Store. Refer to the App Store listing for current pricing and availability. Purchases are made through Apple; this website does not sell access.

Training and scores

BoardWithin provides chess visualization practice. Results depend on your practice and experience. Blindfold Score and Recognition Score are app training measures, not FIDE, US Chess, or other competitive chess ratings. The Blindfold Game opponent is unrated practice software.

Your positions and progress

No BoardWithin account is required. Progress, saved games, and imported positions are stored locally on your device. Import only game content you are permitted to use. See our Privacy Policy for storage and optional Voice processing details.

Content and credits

BoardWithin branding, original artwork, and original instructional material remain the property of their respective owners. App use does not transfer ownership of those materials.

The included tactical puzzle collection is sourced from Lichess’s puzzle database, released under CC0. Those source puzzles retain their original public-domain dedication.
